Bung – Van Ninh Expressway ready for operation from April 28
The main route of the Bung – Van Ninh section of the North–South Expressway will officially open to traffic on April 28, following the successful completion of construction and inspection activities.
The 49-kilometer expressway section runs through Quang Nam province and was constructed with total investment capital of approximately VND 9.4 trillion. The project broke ground in January 2023 and has met its milestone target for completion, according to a report by the project’s management board.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van, Vice Chairman of the State Inspection Council, chairs the meeting on the Bung – Van Ninh Expressway project.
On April 25, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van led an inspection team to assess final preparations before the expressway's inauguration. During the site visit, he emphasized the need for the project investor and contractors to strictly ensure traffic safety, especially at intersections, steep slopes, and areas that remain under construction.
“The investor must coordinate closely with local authorities to manage traffic safety, control vehicle weight, and ensure smooth operation once the expressway is open”, Deputy Minister Van said.

All major construction works on the Bung – Van Ninh section of the North–South Expressway have been completed.
The expressway is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity, reduce travel time between provinces, and support economic growth in central Vietnam. It also plays a vital role in easing congestion along National Highway 1, particularly during the upcoming holiday travel period.
The Ministry of Construction urged continued monitoring of remaining sub-items and proper signage installation to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow.
