Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh launches eastern Quang Ngai’s first social housing project
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh attended the Dec. 16 launch of the HUD–Phu My social housing project in Quang Ngai the first in the province’s eastern area, underscoring efforts to expand affordable housing for local workers and low-income residents.
On the morning of December 16, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh, together with leaders of Quang Ngai province and the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUD), pressed the button to officially launch the HUD–Phu My social housing project.

The project is the first social housing development implemented in eastern Quang Ngai, marking an important step in the province’s efforts to expand affordable housing and improve living conditions for workers and low-income earners.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh praised Quang Ngai province for its positive results in directing and managing social housing development in recent years. He noted that the province has shown determination in implementing the Government’s housing policies, particularly in addressing the housing needs of disadvantaged groups.
According to the Deputy Minister, Quang Ngai has set a target of completing 8,500 social housing units by 2030. To achieve this goal, he called on the province to continue developing cleared land funds, proactively introducing projects and attracting investors to participate in this humane housing segment. He also emphasized the need to improve incentive mechanisms and streamline procedures related to investment approval and eligibility assessment for homebuyers.
Regarding the HUD–Phu My project, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh highly appreciated its infrastructure planning and architectural solutions, especially the design of outdoor parking areas. He described this as a practical and effective model that should be studied and replicated in social housing projects nationwide.
The Deputy Minister requested HUD to focus on implementing the project in strict compliance with requirements on progress, construction quality and architectural aesthetics. At the same time, he expressed his hope that Quang Ngai province would continue to create favorable conditions and provide close support for the investor, enabling the project’s housing products to be put on the market soon to meet the growing demand for affordable housing in the locality.
