Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung urges Khanh Hoa to speed up social housing projects
On October 3, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung urged Khanh Hoa to review housing demand, expand land allocation, and accelerate ongoing projects to meet the Government’s target of at least 1 million social housing units.
On the afternoon of October 3, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung, head of Working Group No. 5 under Decision 1617, held a working session with the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province to review progress and address obstacles in promoting social housing development.

He praised Khanh Hoa’s efforts to date but stressed the need to prioritize land allocation and promptly approve investment policies for new projects. For licensed projects, he called for faster construction to quickly increase the number of completed units.
The Deputy Minister also urged the province to update land-use plans for social housing in line with urban, technical, and social infrastructure planning. He emphasized that projects must ensure construction quality, timely progress, and livable spaces with synchronized infrastructure and essential services.
Local authorities were asked to strengthen supervision, manage investment and beneficiary selection transparently, and coordinate with the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to provide residents with access to preferential loans.
The Deputy Minister affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting localities to overcome challenges and fulfill the Government’s social housing program, which aims to improve living conditions for low-income groups and industrial workers.
He highlighted that accelerating social housing development not only addresses urgent housing needs but also contributes to urban stability, labor force retention, and socio-economic growth in Khanh Hoa.
