Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha urges HAU to speed up training reforms
Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha on November 20 attended the ceremony marking the 43rd Vietnamese Teachers’ Day at the Hanoi University of Architecture, where he commended the school’s progress in improving training quality and academic performance.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha highlighted the university’s more than 50 years of development, during which it has trained tens of thousands of architects, engineers and specialists who have contributed significantly to national industrialization and modernization.

According to the Deputy Minister, the university successfully fulfilled its tasks for the previous academic year, reflected in stronger enrollment, enhanced training programs, expanded research activities and a more capable academic staff.
"These achievements demonstrate the responsibility, dedication and initiative of the university’s leadership and collective," he affirmed.
On behalf of the Ministry of Construction, he urged the university to continue renewing its curriculum, upgrading teaching methods and strengthening the link between training and practical applications. He also stressed the need to accelerate digital transformation to better meet human resource demands in the construction sector.
Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha called for more effective policies to encourage faculty participation in scientific research, technology transfer and consulting activities. He also recommended that the university diversify its revenue sources beyond tuition fees to ensure financial autonomy and improve staff welfare.
He added that the institution should continue standardizing facilities and propose necessary investments to the Ministry of Construction, particularly for laboratory and practical training equipment, while ensuring efficient use of newly funded resources.
The Deputy Minister also requested the university to streamline its organizational structure and strictly implement personnel planning, evaluation and staffing procedures in accordance with regulations.
Expressing confidence in the institution’s long-standing tradition and achievements, he said he believes the Hanoi University of Architecture will continue to excel in fulfilling its mission in the 2025–2026 academic year and beyond.
