Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung discusses project challenges with site engineers during his visit to the Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan Expressway.

“This is a politically significant milestone”, Deputy Minister Hung said. “We must work with high determination, apply the ‘three shifts, four crews’ model, and overcome adverse weather conditions to ensure the road opens on time — in celebration of National Day and the 80th anniversary of the transport sector”.

The Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan Expressway is a key component of the Ho Chi Minh Road project. According to a report from the Project Management Unit (PMU), the project has reached approximately 60% completion, with ongoing work including roadbed excavation, embankment construction (K95, K98), placement of crushed stone, and multiple layers of asphalt concrete. The progress is generally meeting the planned targets.

Construction is underway on the Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan Expressway in Da Nang. The route is scheduled to open to traffic by August 19, 2025.

Deputy Minister Hung also instructed the PMU and contractors to revise the construction timeline in accordance with directions from the Prime Minister and Ministry of Construction leadership. He asked for coordination with local authorities to resolve all remaining obstacles within May and to complete connecting roads by November 2025.

“Quality control must remain a top priority. We cannot sacrifice long-term safety and durability for short-term gains”, he added.

The expressway is scheduled to open to traffic on August 19, 2025, while full completion of the project is targeted for November this year.
