During the inspection of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang expressway, the minister requested that the first 27km section be opened to traffic by May 19. The section will connect the Bac Giang - Lang Son Expressway with the interchange leading to Lang Son City, helping improve connectivity between Ha Noi and Lang Son Province.
The minister asked contractors to mobilize all available machinery, equipment and manpower to accelerate construction and complete the remaining sections on schedule.
At the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project, Minister Tran Hong Minh instructed the project company to expand the roadbed from 17m to 22m to avoid costly future expansion and minimize disruption after completion.
He also called on Cao Bang authorities and the project company to proactively secure funding and accelerate construction before the rainy and storm season.
“The project must ensure speed, accuracy, efficiency, sufficiency and safety, while strictly complying with legal regulations to prevent corruption and waste during construction,” the minister emphasized.
Regarding the proposed alignment of the Ho Chi Minh Road section from former Cao Bang City to Pac Bo, the minister requested stronger connectivity with the Pac Bo historical site, the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway and border gates in the area to maximize regional development efficiency.
He also urged project stakeholders to optimize the use of on-site materials and arrange soil and stone extraction sites with the shortest transport distances to reduce construction costs.
