Minister Tran Hong Minh calls on Mien Tay Construction University to align training needs
Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh called on Mien Tay Construction University to reform training programs, accelerate digital transformation and develop a workforce aligned with infrastructure and urban development needs across the Mekong Delta.
On the morning of March 10, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh and a delegation from the Ministry paid a working visit to Mien Tay Construction University in Vinh Long Province.

After listening to the university’s report, the Minister acknowledged the efforts of its leadership, faculty members and staff in maintaining training activities and gradually improving education quality in recent years.
Minister Tran Hong Minh emphasized that human resource development plays a key role in supporting infrastructure construction, urban development and climate adaptation in the Mekong Delta.
He urged the university to comprehensively reform its training programs, placing students at the center and ensuring that education is closely aligned with the development needs of localities and the region.
The Minister also called on the university to accelerate digital transformation in both teaching and university governance, while developing digital training programs in specialized fields of construction and engineering.
Alongside improving training quality, the university was encouraged to strengthen its team of lecturers and educational managers with strong professional capacity and integrity, contributing to the sustainable development of the institution.
According to Minister Tran Hong Minh, the Ministry of Construction will consider supporting the university’s proposals, including investment in facilities during the 2026–2030 period and the plan to establish a training campus in Can Tho City.
The Ministry will also study mechanisms within its authority to support the university’s development roadmap toward greater autonomy from 2027.
He expressed confidence that with appropriate reforms and stronger connections with regional development needs, Mien Tay Construction University will play an increasingly important role in training construction professionals for the Mekong Delta.
