Minister Tran Hong Minh asks Vinh Long Province to study port development to boost local socio-economic growth.

At the meeting, provincial authorities reported on several areas including planning and architectural management, urban development, transport infrastructure investment, as well as housing and real estate market management.

Nguyen Truc Son, Vice Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee, said the province is focusing on mobilising resources to develop transport infrastructure, upgrading key arterial roads of the newly reorganised province and improving connections to economic zones, industrial parks and industrial clusters.

After hearing reports from local authorities and relevant units, Minister Tran Hong Minh directed Deo Ca Group to continue studying and proposing an investment plan for the CT33 expressway, combined with the expansion of National Highway 60.

The project aims to strengthen regional connectivity by linking Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3 and the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway with the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway and Tran De Seaport.

The minister also suggested adjusting the route alignment to ensure effective connections with major bridges such as Rach Mieu 2 Bridge, Dai Ngai 1 Bridge and Dai Ngai 2 Bridge, thereby maximising infrastructure efficiency and enhancing regional transport capacity.

In addition, he asked the province to study the development of seaports and inland waterway ports to better utilise the Mekong Delta’s advantages in river and coastal transport, contributing to local socio-economic development.
