Phu Tho ready for resettlement work on Lao Cai – Ha Noi – Hai Phong railway
On August 12, Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy inspected preparations in Phu Tho for the Lao Cai–Ha Noi–Hai Phong railway, urging close coordination to resolve technical and economic issues, notably around Binh Xuyen, Cao Phong and Viet Tri stations.
The section passing through Phu Tho is nearly 100 km long, crossing 20 wards and communes. It will feature four mixed-use stations, one passenger station, and two technical depots. The project requires over 630 hectares of land and will affect more than 1,800 households.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy and provincial leaders inspect the new Viet Tri Station site, part of the Lao Cai – Ha Noi – Hai Phong railway project.
To date, Phu Tho has consolidated its Land Clearance Steering Committee, prepared 36 resettlement areas, and drawn up plans to relocate five cemeteries, nearly 300 medium- and low-voltage power line sites and transformer stations, and nearly 200 streetlight poles, along with other affected infrastructure.
Local authorities confirmed that all tasks are on track with the Prime Minister’s schedule and that the province is fully prepared to commence construction of resettlement areas and railway stations as planned.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy emphasized that timely site clearance and infrastructure relocation are critical to ensuring the project’s smooth implementation, which will enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth.
