Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, head of the State Steering Committee for key transport projects, on January 30 chaired the 23rd meeting to review progress and accelerate major transport infrastructure projects nationwide today now.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh reports on project implementation at the meeting.
At the meeting, participants reviewed the implementation of tasks assigned since the 22nd meeting, assessed completed and pending duties, examined progress of projects under the Committee’s oversight, discussed plans to upgrade and complete expressway routes in accordance with standards and regulations, and reviewed auditing and final settlement work in line with prescribed timelines.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Viet Nam must complete 5,000 kilometres of expressways by 2030, calling for immediate and decisive solutions in resource allocation, project preparation and implementation. He urged all ministries, sectors and localities to act with a strong sense of urgency, emphasizing the need to value time, intellect and timely decision-making.
Building on the momentum of the 14th National Party Congress and the start of 2026, the Prime Minister called for stronger implementation efforts so that "each meeting is better than the previous one, each month better than the last, and each year better than the year before."
Reports presented at the meeting showed that in 2025, ministries, sectors and localities, particularly members of the Steering Committee, made determined efforts to accelerate project implementation. Many transport projects were completed and put into operation, creating a breakthrough in infrastructure development during the 2021–2025 period and contributing to socio-economic growth, national defence and security, while earning broad public and business support.
Despite severe weather conditions in 2025, including major storms and floods that disrupted construction activities, investors and contractors upheld a strong sense of responsibility, quickly restoring works to ensure progress. As a result, more than 3,000 kilometres of expressways and 1,700 kilometres of coastal roads were completed nationwide.
In the same year, three nationwide ceremonies were held to inaugurate, commence and technically open major infrastructure projects, covering 564 projects in 34 provinces and cities, with a total investment exceeding VND 5.14 quadrillion.
According to the Ministry of Construction, following the 22nd meeting held on December 9, 2025, the Prime Minister assigned 31 tasks to ministries and localities. To date, 13 out of 18 due tasks have been completed on schedule, while the remaining tasks are being actively implemented in accordance with assigned timelines.
