SBI Holdings plans Las Vegas Sphere-style entertainment hub in Tokyo’s Odaiba district

-

SBI Holdings plans a major entertainment complex in Tokyo’s Daiba waterfront, entering formal talks with Sphere Entertainment Co. to replicate the Las Vegas Sphere concept in Japan.

The original Las Vegas Sphere required approximately ¥350.0 billion in development costs, and the Japanese counterpart is anticipated to require an investment on a similar scale. While the partnership with Madison Square Garden Entertainment is progressing, the specific construction site and commencement dates are yet to be finalized.

This initiative marks a significant expansion of SBI’s business portfolio. In 2025, the group established SBI Neo Media Holdings (Minato-ku, Tokyo) as a wholly-owned subsidiary to oversee media, entertainment, and marketing operations. By centering its strategy on this new entity, SBI aims to:

Integrate finance and IT with media to streamline information distribution.

Facilitate investment and financing for high-end content.

Create a new "economic ecosystem" that bridges digital and physical entertainment.

Further solidifying its foothold in urban development and content creation, SBI Holdings entered into a capital and business alliance with Tokyu Land Holdings on March 31.
