Vietnam, Guangxi deepen cooperation in housing planning and urban–rural development

On November 27, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van met with Guangxi’s Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction to discuss housing planning, urban renewal, housing models and opportunities to expand practical cooperation between the two sides.

Director Yang Lufeng said that urban reconstruction and renovation will remain a key priority in China, particularly in improving living conditions for low-income workers and vulnerable groups. He outlined Guangxi’s experience in rural housing planning, the redevelopment of old urban areas, and mechanisms to expand affordable housing.

The two sides also discussed Vietnam’s procedures for renovating and repairing existing apartment buildings, orientations for smart city development, and planning models for border cities and port–logistics urban areas.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van responded to several questions raised by the Guangxi delegation and affirmed Vietnam’s readiness to promote practical and effective cooperation. He assigned relevant units of the Ministry to study ways to share information and connect Vietnamese enterprises and research institutions with Guangxi in digital urban development initiatives.
