(Construction) - This was the directive given by Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam at the conference to review the work of 2024 and outline the plan for 2025 of Project Management Board (PMB) 6, held this afternoon (8th January).

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam highlighted that in 2024, PMB 6 achieved many notable results. The disbursement outcomes of the Board made a significant contribution to the overall successes of the sector.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Duy Lam delivered a speech at the conference.

"Disbursing even a single money involves numerous legal procedures, which require very strict protocols, and Project Management Board 6 has done well in this regard. The results achieved by the Board are due to their solidarity, proactivity, and determination in implementing the plan. Only through unity, discipline, and order can we generate the strength to accomplish the assigned political tasks," said the Deputy Minister.

"In addition to the two completed projects: Nghi Son - Dien Chau and Dien Chau - Bai Vot, the two component projects: Vung Ang - Bung and Bung - Van Ninh on the North-South expressway for the 2021-2025 period are working days and nights to reach completion soon. These projects must complete all items synchronously (rest stops, toll stations, intelligent traffic control systems, vehicle load control stations, etc.) before they can be put into operation, to avoid the situation where the route is disrupted for construction after it has already been opened," the Deputy Minister instructed.

Regarding the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Component 2 project, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam stated that this is a very challenging project with complex terrain and technical requirements, including tunnels through mountains and high bridges. Project Management Board 6 should focus on accelerating progress, aiming to achieve 80% of the output by 2026, completing the remaining items in 2026, and ensuring early operation and synchronization with the component projects managed by the two localities.

The Deputy Minister also stated that many expressway projects in the future will continue to be decentralised to localities. In the near future, priority will be given to investment in railway projects. Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Lam requested Project Management Board 6 to focus on researching orientations, organising the structure, and training human resources to adapt appropriately to the new situation, which will involve a larger and more complex workload.

In 2025, Project Management Board 6 also aims to effectively implement the job position project and refine the organisational structure. It will continue to streamline the payroll in line with restructuring and standardising the staff. The Board also aims to increase income for officials and employees, with the average salary in 2025 set to rise by 10% compared to 2024.
