(Construction) – On the morning of 1st April, the working delegation from the Ministry of Construction, led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh, held a meeting with the People’s Committee of Bac Giang Province to discuss the implementation of the project to build 1 million social housing units.

Reporting to the Working Group, a representative from the Department of Construction of Bac Giang stated that the People\'s Committee of Bac Giang Province has currently approved 12 independent social housing planning projects, covering approximately 89.34 hectares. In addition, around 25 urban and residential area planning projects in the region have allocated land for social housing, with a total land area of 89.13 hectares designated for development. Of these, approximately 15 projects have already selected investors.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh and the working delegation inspected the social housing area for workers in Quang Chau Ward (Viet Yen Town).

During the working session, the delegation and the People\'s Committee of Bac Giang Province discussed and addressed difficulties and recommendations related to administrative procedures for implementing social housing projects. They also examined regulations regarding the social housing obligations of investors, challenges in determining incentives for the 20% land fund allocated for building commercial housing, as well as issues related to the form and conditions for purchasing and renting social housing, among other matters.

After conducting a site inspection and listening to reports and recommendations from Bac Giang Province, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the leadership and direction of the People\'s Council and People\'s Committee of Bac Giang in implementing the 1 million social housing units project.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh suggested that in the coming period, Bac Giang should place special emphasis on the development of social housing in the region. He advised continued efforts to direct, review, and allocate land for social housing projects, and for projects that have already been approved and granted construction permits, he urged authorities to expedite progress to ensure the achievement of the set goals.

The representative of the investor for social housing area No. 2 in area No. 5 and No. 9 of the southern urban area of Bac Giang City presented the project.

For the five projects scheduled for completion in 2025, Bac Giang Province should pay close attention, plan, and adjust progress accordingly to achieve the target of completing 5,254 apartments. Regarding the proposals and recommendations from Bac Giang Province, the Working Group will take note and provide specific written responses, which will serve as a basis for local implementation.

Earlier, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Sinh and the working delegation visited the social housing area for workers in Nenh ward and Quang Chau ward (Viet Yen town), as well as social housing area No. 2 in area No. 5 and No. 9 of the southern urban area of Bac Giang city.
