On the afternoon of August 19 in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha chaired a working session with the My Thuan Project Management Unit, contractors, and consultants to review the progress of major southern transport projects. These include the Can Tho – Hau Giang – Ca Mau Expressway, the upgrading of the Cao Lanh – Lo Te route, and the Lo Te – Rach Soi route.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Department of Construction Economics, the State Agency for Construction Quality Inspection, and the Vietnam Road Administration.
Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Minister tasked the My Thuan Project Management Unit with developing a detailed work schedule for each package and contractor, with weekly updates to the Ministry of Construction. Contractors must mobilize additional resources to make up for delays, especially on the Hau Giang – Ca Mau section, ensuring the main route is operational by December 19, 2025.
The Department of Construction Economics was assigned to conduct regular inspections and propose timely solutions to address obstacles. The State Agency for Construction Quality Inspection and technical experts will intensify quality checks, review management documents, and coordinate closely with independent verification consultants to ensure compliance with acceptance standards.
"The contractors must deliver on their commitments. What has been promised must be done to uphold enterprise reputation and fulfill responsibilities to the people", Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha emphasized.
