Chairing the July review and August task-setting conference, Minister Tran Hong Minh praised achievements in the first seven months of the year. Six out of eight annual targets have been met, along with 15 of 34 assigned tasks, with no overdue work. Progress has also been recorded in legal and institutional reforms, digital transformation, and innovation.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh speaks at the ministry’s July review meeting, highlighting the goal of building over 1 million social housing units by 2030.
On transport infrastructure, the national expressway network has grown by 208 kilometers this year. Six new sections of the Eastern North–South Expressway are scheduled to open on August 19, raising Vietnam’s total expressway length to 2,476 kilometers.
"From now until 2030, our goal is to provide more than 1 million social housing units nationwide, especially in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City", Minister Tran Hong Minh emphasized. "In 2025 alone, we aim to complete over 100,000 units".
The Minister urged stronger efforts in public investment disbursement, noting that results remain below expectations. He directed project management boards and investors to remove bottlenecks, speed up toll collection and ITS systems on the Eastern North–South Expressway, and finalize procedures for tunnel projects.
He also issued a stern warning: "If investment performance continues to fall short, the Ministry will take strong measures against responsible leaders".

Delegates attend the Ministry of Construction’s review meeting on August 15 in Hanoi.
Referring to a recent fatal labor accident on the Quy Nhon–Chi Thanh expressway section, Minister Minh demanded stricter enforcement of safety standards on construction sites.
Looking ahead, the Ministry of Construction will focus on finalizing draft decrees on underground space management and railway procurement, while accelerating the implementation of Resolution 57 on science, technology and digital transformation, and Resolution 66 on legislative reforms.
