At the Van Ninh – Cam Lo Expressway project in Quang Tri, one of the final sections of the North-South Expressway (Phase 1), the Minister praised project units for following the schedule and urged them to ensure the route is opened by August 19 as committed.

Minister Tran Hong Minh inspects the expressway construction site in Quang Tri Province as part of a field trip from Hanoi to the central region on July 10.
Minister Tran Hong Minh emphasized strict supervision of construction quality and progress, especially during the final phase. "Although the remaining workload is small, there must be no complacency. Focus on technical quality and prevent road surface rutting", he said.
Given the recent implementation of the two-tier local government model and provincial administrative reorganization, the Minister also requested a comprehensive review and update of road signage to match new locality names.
He appreciated Quang Tri’s efforts in site clearance but urged local authorities to accelerate the final land clearance, especially for access roads and feeder roads, to avoid affecting residents once the expressway opens.

The Van Ninh – Cam Lo Expressway is nearing completion, with about 97% of work already finished.
With overall project progress at 97%, contractors were instructed to mobilize machinery and workforce effectively and prepare contingency plans for the upcoming rainy season in the central region.
"Projects like Vung Ang – Bung and Van Ninh – Cam Lo must be urgently completed as committed to the Prime Minister, helping establish seamless expressway connectivity from Hanoi to Hue", Minister Tran Hong Minh directed.
