On May 15, Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung inspected the Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon expressway and urged contractors to accelerate construction to open the route by August 19, 2025, following the Prime Minister’s directive.

Deputy Minister Hung praised the significant progress achieved since the previous inspection two months earlier, acknowledging the determination of investors, contractors, and supervising consultants. “The site has undergone noticeable improvements, reflecting strong efforts from all parties involved”, he noted.

To meet the tight deadline, the Deputy Minister emphasized the need for strict adherence to the project timeline and urged all units to adopt the “three shifts, four crews” model to maximize construction productivity.

“We must move forward with no delays or excuses, as the schedule is non-negotiable”, he stressed. “Investors must maintain close supervision on site to ensure that traffic can be opened on time”.

Several sections of the expressway have already been paved ahead of schedule. However, Deputy Minister Hung warned that quality must not be sacrificed for speed. “The project’s capital disbursement must be closely monitored. Contractors must be financially and technically capable, and construction quality must remain uncompromised”.

Addressing concerns over delays by certain contractors, the Deputy Minister directed Project Management Unit 85 to assess performance and consider reallocating workloads to more capable contractors if necessary to avoid delays.
