Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy addresses the opening session of the Vietnam–China Joint Railway Cooperation Committee in Beijing.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy emphasized that railway cooperation has become a symbolic pillar of the Vietnam–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He noted that the initiative reflects the determination of both governments to turn high-level agreements into practical, strategic outcomes for the two economies.
He stressed that under the close direction of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and China’s National Development and Reform Commission have played a central coordinating role in advancing bilateral railway cooperation.
The Deputy Minister underlined that the establishment of the Joint Railway Cooperation Committee in April 2025 marked a significant milestone, demonstrating strong policy backing and effective technical exchanges between the two sides. These efforts, he added, are generating fresh momentum for enterprises engaged in cross-border railway development.
Huy also met with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing on the sidelines of the session to discuss closer coordination and support for the promotion of Vietnam–China railway cooperation.
The inaugural session took place at a time when Vietnam–China political and diplomatic relations are at an unprecedentedly positive stage, offering a favorable environment for further practical collaboration in modernizing and expanding the cross-border railway network.
