Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha inspects construction progress at the Can Tho – Hau Giang subproject during his field trip on October 1.
During his two-day field inspection and meeting with the My Thuan Project Management Board, contractors, and relevant units, the Deputy Minister acknowledged positive progress compared with August but noted that some contractors still lag schedule.
He instructed the My Thuan Board to conduct weekly reviews of each contractor’s performance, strictly handle delays within its authority, and report unresolved issues to the Ministry.
Deputy Minister Ha also urged the Board to accelerate the selection of contractors and construction of the ITS system to ensure synchronized operation, while expediting completion of essential facilities at rest stops.
He requested prompt acceptance and payment for completed work volumes to ease contractors’ financial pressure, in strict compliance with legal and contractual regulations, supporting the Ministry’s disbursement plan.
Addressing concerns about material pricing and related norms, the Deputy Minister assigned the Department of Construction Economics and Investment Management to provide timely guidance.
With less than three months remaining, the Deputy Minister directed the Department and the State Authority for Construction Quality Inspection to intensify on-site supervision, ensure quality management, and submit weekly reports to keep the project on track for completion as scheduled.
