Minister Tran Hong Minh has instructed project owners, contractors and consultants involved in the Long Thanh International Airport project to intensify construction efforts and ensure the airport is ready for operation by the end of 2026.
Minister Tran Hong Minh and Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha inspect construction progress at Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai on June 13.
During an on-site inspection of the project in Dong Nai on June 13, accompanied by Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha, the Minister stressed that maintaining the construction schedule remains the top priority.
"The schedule cannot be pushed back. We must race against time and make every day count," he said.
The Minister directed all stakeholders to review construction workloads, accelerate settlement procedures and continue supporting engineers and workers who have been working around the clock at the site.
For finishing works, contractors were instructed to complete each item thoroughly before moving on to the next stage, while ensuring construction activities are carried out in parallel with landscaping efforts.
Completed areas should be cleaned promptly, with trees and grass planted during the rainy season to improve the overall appearance of the project, he said.
The Minister also called for closer coordination between project management units, contractors and military forces in site clearance, environmental improvement and tree-planting activities.
Regarding the airport’s internal road network, he described the component as critical to ensuring the integrated operation of the entire airport and urged contractors to speed up implementation.
For the elevated roadway in front of the passenger terminal, Truong Son Construction Corporation was asked to mobilize additional manpower and equipment to accelerate progress and recover lost time.
"If necessary, work must continue day and night to make up for delays and ensure the project remains on schedule," the Minister said.
