According to reports, construction on the four component projects of Long Thanh International Airport is being accelerated. Among them, Component Project 1, which includes headquarters for state management agencies such as the Port Authority, Customs, Police, and Immigration-has largely kept pace with the planned schedule, with many items expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.

At the working session, Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha stated that although Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) previously reported challenges in recruiting personnel, there are now established regulations and standards in place. Therefore, ACV must require contractors to strengthen and expand their workforce to meet construction demands and ensure the project's progress. In addition to accelerating the project through "3 shifts, 4 crews" work schedules, the Deputy Minister also emphasized the need to safeguard workers' health throughout the construction process.
Concluding the working session, Minister Tran Hong Minh stressed that the public places great trust and expectations in the Long Thanh Airport project. As a major international airport being constructed by the Vietnamese themselves, it embodies the spirit of self-reliance and national pride. The investors, contractors, and local authorities must work in close coordination to resolve existing obstacles.
Minister Tran Hong Minh acknowledged the significant positive progress of the project. The component projects are being implemented and are on track according to plan. Despite the complex nature of the massive construction site with multiple works being executed simultaneously, coordination among contractors has been smooth, with no land-use conflicts reported. However, the Minister cautioned against complacency, urging all parties to maintain pace and momentum to ensure all components are completed by the end of December as required by the government.

The Minister also commended ACV for its efforts in preparing and processing necessary documentation, which facilitates the timely implementation of the airport’s second runway.
"The second runway has passed the appraisal process. ACV should promptly develop construction plans, allocate tasks among units, prepare the site, and compact the ground. Once the ground is broken, construction must commence immediately. Any issues arising must be reported and resolved without delay", the Minister stated.
During a morning field inspection, the Minister observed that the two access roads to Long Thanh Airport, T1 and T2, are progressing well and are nearly complete, ensuring convenient transportation. In contrast, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway segment through Dong Nai still faces significant challenges.
The Minister called for stronger involvement from both the project investor and Dong Nai Province, particularly on the connecting section to the airport, to ensure that the infrastructure is fully operational by the end of 2025.
For the expressway segment passing through Bien Hoa and Long Thanh, which is hindered by unresolved technical infrastructure issues, the Minister urged Dong Nai authorities to expedite resolution efforts to prevent delays. Contractors are required to increase machinery and manpower to make up for lost output, while the project owner must take firm action against underperforming contractors.
