On July 18, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy Head of Government Working Group No. 1, inspected the Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh Expressway and attended the closure ceremony of Ky Lo Bridge — the project’s longest, most complex bridge.

At the construction site, the Deputy Minister highly praised the efforts of the investor, contractors, and consulting units for mobilizing resources and maintaining construction momentum despite complex terrain and harsh conditions. He urged all parties to focus on accelerating progress to meet the technical traffic clearance milestone set for August 19, as directed by the Prime Minister.

Ky Lo Bridge, located at Km63+328, spans over 1,8 kilometers with seven balanced cantilever spans and 28 Super T-beam spans. Its completion removes a major bottleneck and provides strong momentum for the remaining sections of the expressway.

"This is a significant breakthrough", Deputy Minister Hung stated. "You have made great efforts, and now we must push even harder. There is no room for delay".

He emphasized the Prime Minister’s directive: "Only talk about doing, never talk about retreating", and called for continued round-the-clock work to ensure that key segments are open to traffic by the August deadline.

The Deputy Minister instructed the State Authority for Construction Quality Inspection to conduct thorough evaluations, especially for large bridge structures such as Ky Lo, to ensure structural safety and resilience during operation — including under extreme weather conditions.

He also requested that departments under the Ministry of Construction assign personnel to the site to monitor construction quality, reinforce supervision, and uphold strict safety and technical standards.

According to the project management board, over 2.300 workers are currently mobilized on-site each day. Deputy Minister Hung acknowledged the visible progress but stressed that the final phase remains critical.

"With determination and unity, we must bring this project to completion on schedule", he said, reaffirming the Ministry’s strong commitment to fulfilling national infrastructure goals.
