Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung inspects the Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon Expressway and directs final-stage problem solving.
The Deputy Minister commended the investor, contractors and Quang Ngai provincial authorities for their proactive coordination, noting that the project has shown clear improvements compared to his previous inspection.
At the starting point in Nghia Giang Commune, he reviewed major items including slope protection, asphalt paving, installation of median barriers and traffic signs. He highlighted that the simultaneous implementation of multiple tasks during the peak construction period reflects the contractors’ capacity, the investor’s responsibility and strong support from local authorities.
The Deputy Minister reminded all parties that the remaining time to meet the deadline—under the direction of the Prime Minister and Minister of Construction—is extremely limited. He urged the investor and contractors to mobilize maximum financial resources, manpower, machinery and equipment to accelerate progress.
"Every sunny day must be fully utilized to increase on-site productivity. This project cannot afford any delays," he stressed.
He also requested closer coordination with local authorities to conduct community engagement and ensure smooth communication with residents, especially during the final construction phase. He emphasized that preventing disruptions related to local livelihoods is essential for keeping the project on track.
Underscoring the expressway’s strategic importance within the national transport network, the Deputy Minister called for absolute focus and discipline to ensure the section opens to traffic on schedule.
Addressing local concerns, he instructed the investor and contractors to work with the province to restore all infrastructure affected by construction, including local roads, drainage systems and irrigation channels. "Community roads must be restored to a condition better than before," he said.
