Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Xuan Sang chairs a conference on October 8 in Hanoi.
Deputy Minister Sang acknowledged the constructive contributions of agencies and organizations in evaluating the results of the current strategy. He also noted that some units had yet to pay adequate attention to this task, urging closer coordination and stronger accountability in the next phase.
He emphasized the need to collect and analyze data across all fields — from planning, investment, and operation to maintenance of transport infrastructure — to provide a comprehensive assessment. The Deputy Minister assigned the Academy for Strategy and Cadre Training in Construction to work with specialized departments in roads, railways, maritime, inland waterways, and civil aviation to finalize the summary report.
Deputy Minister Sang affirmed that the development of the transport sector must simultaneously ensure timeliness, cost-efficiency, and safety, while gradually shifting the market share from road transport to other modes. This approach aims to optimize resource use, balance infrastructure investment, and foster sustainable growth in the coming years.
