Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha urges contractors to accelerate construction to open the Can Tho–Hau Giang–Ca Mau Expressway to traffic on December 19.

During a site inspection on December 16, a delegation from the Ministry of Construction reviewed progress on the Can Tho–Hau Giang and Hau Giang–Ca Mau component projects, which form part of the eastern North–South Expressway for the 2021–2025 period.

After hearing reports from relevant units, the Deputy Minister urged contractors to make extraordinary efforts by extending working hours, increasing construction shifts, and mobilizing additional manpower, equipment and construction teams. Priority is being given to completing asphalt concrete paving and traffic safety systems on the main route.

He also stressed the importance of expediting the preparation and completion of all construction completion dossiers in accordance with regulations, ensuring that the project meets technical and legal requirements before being put into operation.

Regarding traffic organization, the Deputy Minister instructed the My Thuan Project Management Board to coordinate closely with the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam to finalize traffic management plans. This includes reviewing and installing directional signage and temporary traffic safety systems at interchanges that are not yet open to traffic, to be completed by December 18 to ensure safety when the expressway is put into use.
