On the morning of October 21, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh handed over VND 5 billion to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) to support people affected by recent storms and floods.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh presents VND 5 billion to support flood victims through the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi, October 21.
At the handover ceremony, Minister Minh, who also serves as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Construction, affirmed that the ministry’s agencies and units have always accompanied the VFF at all levels, actively engaging in fundraising and social welfare programs such as eradicating temporary housing, repairing dilapidated homes, and developing social housing.
"In response to the VFF’s call to assist flood victims, the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Trade Union launched a campaign encouraging officials, employees, workers, and enterprises across the sector to contribute both materially and spiritually in the spirit of ‘the good leaves protect the worn-out ones’," Minister Minh said.
"Through the VFF, we are donating VND 5 billion as a token of solidarity and compassion, hoping to help people overcome losses and soon stabilize their lives," he added.
The Minister noted that, beyond this contribution, agencies and enterprises under the ministry have also taken proactive steps to directly support affected communities. Recently, Báo Xây dựng (Construction Newspaper), in cooperation with philanthropists, sponsors, and local authorities, delivered over VND 2.4 billion in relief supplies and cash donations to flood-hit residents in Thai Nguyen Province.
On behalf of the VFF Central Committee, Chairman Do Van Chien expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Construction’s timely and meaningful contribution, recognizing the ministry’s ongoing support and compassion in helping disaster-affected citizens rebuild their lives.
