Vietnam is intensifying efforts to implement its national housing development strategy, aiming to complete 100,000 social housing units by the end of 2025, according to Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the VIETBUILD Da Nang 2025 International Exhibition on May 14, Deputy Minister Sinh emphasized that the country’s socio-economic performance in the first four months of the year has shown positive signs, surpassing results from the same period in 2024.

He highlighted that the Government and Prime Minister have issued timely and decisive directives to foster economic recovery, promote digital transformation and innovation, and remove obstacles for enterprises, particularly in the real estate, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

A key component of the national development plan is the goal of achieving at least 8% GDP growth in 2025, with a longer-term ambition to return to double-digit growth. The Government is also accelerating administrative reforms, including the restructuring of local-level administrative units and implementing a streamlined two-tier governance model.

As part of this broader strategy, localities across Vietnam are actively participating in the national program to build one million affordable housing units. The 2025 milestone focuses on delivering 100,000 of those units to meet rising demand for low-income housing.

Deputy Minister Sinh also noted that the Government is prioritizing public investment in strategic infrastructure, including seaport development, the Hai Phong – Hanoi – Lao Cai railway, urban metro lines, the North–South high-speed railway, and key segments of the Eastern North–South Expressway.

“These achievements, supported by consistent and unified government leadership and proactive engagement from ministries and local authorities, have created highly favorable conditions for enterprises”, Deputy Minister Sinh said. “This is a strong opportunity for businesses in construction, building materials, architecture, and interior and exterior design to expand operations and contribute to the country’s development”.

The VIETBUILD Da Nang 2025 International Exhibition is jointly organized by the Ministry of Construction, the Da Nang People’s Committee, the Vietnam Construction Association, the Vietnam Association for Building Materials, and the Vietnam Real Estate Association. The event features nearly 900 booths showcasing new products, cutting-edge technologies, and leading global brands in the construction and real estate sectors.
