The plenary session of the Vietnam Green Building and Transport Week 2025 officially took place on October 29 in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was organized by the Ministry of Construction, in coordination with ministries, local authorities, and international partners.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh delivers opening remarks at the plenary session of the Vietnam Green Building and Transport Week 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh emphasized that promoting green buildings and green transport is both an inevitable global trend and a strategic direction in Vietnam’s economic restructuring toward green growth and sustainable development.
According to the Deputy Minister, green buildings play a key role in reducing energy and water consumption, minimizing CO₂ emissions, and improving environmental quality. Meanwhile, green transport serves as a vital pillar in the transition to a clean and smart mobility system through the adoption of electric vehicles, biofuel-powered transport, and modern infrastructure such as metro lines, BRT systems, and charging stations.
Over the past four years, the Ministry of Construction has organized the annual Green Building Week to promote energy-efficient designs and advanced technologies. This year, the program expanded to include Green Transport, reflecting the Ministry’s broader focus on sustainable infrastructure.
By the end of the third quarter of 2025, Vietnam had recorded over 600 certified green buildings with a total area of nearly 17 million square meters, along with 183,240 electric cars and 974 electric buses in operation nationwide — a strong indicator of Vietnam’s growing commitment to green transition.
The 2025 Green Building and Transport Week features a series of specialized forums and exhibitions aimed at implementing national green growth strategies, identifying policy bottlenecks, and fostering cooperation between government, academia, and businesses toward Vietnam’s net-zero 2050 target.
